Here we are; it's rolling into November. The leaves are down off the trees and the air has a wintry chill in it. I'm already snuggling up in sweaters and sipping hot chai while I watch the branches sway in the crisp breeze outside. I know a lot of photographers pack up their gear after the fall color fades into a barren landscape, but I have to admit, I still love the look of nature after the color is gone. The world looks very different, but there is still beauty if you know where to look. I also like this time of year for portrait backdrops. A bright red sweater against the muted tones - lovely. So, don't doubt how great photography can still be after the color is gone. Here is a wonderful example of interesting images I love this time of year.
I shot this a few falls ago while hiking with my mom at Squaw Creek Park in Iowa. I hope you are all snuggling up and saving a least a little bit of that Halloween candy for the trick or treaters. ;)
