Desktop Calendar | September 2010

How is it September already? This year for me feels like it has flown past. I'm already planning my fantasy football strategy (or lack there of) and enjoying the cool, end of summer, nights. This month's calendar has a feeling of calm. I gave you a feeling of dry last month and this time, I wanted to cool and calm you down. Easy quite evenings along the river make for a nice sense of still and relaxation on your desktop.

I shot this image back in June. I spent several hours in the marina in Lacon, Illinois. I watched as the sky grew darker. I enjoyed that evening. I really enjoy the company of others when I'm out photographing nature, but this night the solo experience of capturing the iron giants that central Illinois has for bridges over the swollen Illinois river put me at ease. The only sounds that evening were the hum of barges as they crept their way down the river. It just felt good to be put there. It felt easy. I like what I was seeing and hearing as I stood there and that emotion seemed to be rendering nicely on the back of my camera.

I hope you enjoy this month's calendar. Hopefully it will put in the in the mood to just sit outside during this month's cool evenings and listen to a quieter world.

I have 5 desktop sizes again for you this month:

and your mobile backgrounds as well. (Don't forget if you prefer a wide version for your iPad, choose the 1024x768 desktop version above. It should fit like a glove.)
