I'm really excited about this year's World Wide Photowalk. This is the 3rd year running for the event, and Peoria's second time participating. I missed out on the fun last year because I was on vacation. Okay to Italy, but still... So this year, I'm really excited to get together with my photographer friends and soon to be friends for a friendly walk around downtown Peoria snapping away and then chowing down some lunch along with some laughs. Truth be told, this sort of thing is something the local Peoria Flickr group does all the time. We don't need an annual walk to get us outside, we do it every month. Hey, we like photography, fun, and hummus.
This annual event created by Scott Kelby, Photoshop guru, is a big deal though. It's free to join and there are prizes. Yep, you can submit your best photos for a chance to win some very sweet prizes including some spending cash at Adorama and a year's subscription to Kelby Training. Suh-weet! So sign up and come on out. I'll be looking forward to meeting all of you. I'll even introduce you to a guy who will "Tiger" for you. Don't worry, it's mostly about the pose. ;)
Here is the link to the Peoria Photowalk page where you can sign up. I just got all registered myself and at the time it looked like were 27 spots left, so don't wait. See you all there!
Oh and remember I mentioned the monthly fun we have? Well June's photowalk is being led by our own Michael "Vuji" Vujovich. He's leading us out to Woodford State Fish and Wildlife Area on June 19th. Check out the details here.
* Hopefully Scott and the gang won't mind my blatantly using the official WWPW logo. It's pretty sweet.
