Okay, so the little montage right here makes it easy to see why I love my mom. She's fun. Plain and simple. Sure, she is a great mom and she is always there for me and always supports me through every step in my life. She's my shoulder to cry on and she's the one I share everything with. However, she is so much more. She's my best friend. I can't think of anyone else I'd rather talk to on the phone (and I've got the phone bills to prove it). One of my favorite things about her is that she is always laughing. She never takes life too seriously. As some might say, there is always time to stop and smell the roses, well for her, there is always time for a glass of vino on the patio. She kind of lives by the motto "Life is Good".
Since I've started photography, she started right along with me and its been fun to go on photowalk's with her. We've gone to state parks, shot wildlife and nature in her backyard, searching for cool barns together, roamed downtown Cedar Rapids before and after the flood of 2008 and even had a laughing incident with some llamas. My mom also enjoys the little things in life. It is something about her that I wish I could more like. She is truly happy to sit and watch the birds at her many bird feeders, go on a leisurely bike ride, or just laugh and sip wine with my dad on the patio.
So, here's to my Mom. She's part of the reason I am who I am today and I've got to give her props. Happy Mother's Day!
