Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. I love everything about it, the colors, the smells, the cool weather, cozy sweaters, pumpkins, pies, football, and mostly the nostalgia that I feel this time of year. Every year something about fall reminds me of my childhood. Maybe its playing in piles of leaves in the yard, or my parents taking me to pick pumpkins at the local patch, or maybe its all those sunny days and cool nights in marching band or maybe it's just the idea of change. Whatever it is, fall always strikes a cord with me and I always welcome it with a smile. It doesn't last long enough usually before winter takes over, but I love it while it lasts.
I thought I'd scour around looking for great images to capture of Falls beautiful, but fleeting moments. As many photographers have been complaining about this year, the color has been interesting. It took a long time to get going and now many leaves are already down. I know my Autumn Blaze maple tree in my front yard was green forever, it had about 4 days of orange color and now the leaves are brown and blah. I still managing to find an interesting mix of images this year, focusing on the intimate landscape of leaves, grasses, and flowers. I found plenty of color upon closer inspection.
I've put together my 2010 Fall Collection below here. I hope you enjoy my little discoveries. For my photographer readers, I shot all of the images below with either a Lensbaby 2.0 or my 50mm f/1.4. I'm starting to like going out with ones lens more and more.
