It was one of those perfect early fall days. The air was still warm with a slight fall breeze. It felt to me like a college football day. The sun was shining through the leaves in the trees that were turning chartreuse. Some might say it was the perfect day for an outdoor wedding, and that it just what Wendy and Steve got. We spent the day hanging out with a super awesome bridal party that was all about having a good time.
The ceremony was kicked off with "Steely Pan", an amazing steel drum musician (more on him in a later post), and then a short and memorable ceremony outside on a patio next to Horseshoe Lodge at Pinicon Ridge park in Iowa. After the nuptials, we strolled on down to the Wapsipinicon River for some more fun photos of the whole party, which included some old school fun on swing sets (like I said, awesome bridal party) and then some alone time for Wendy Steve getting romantic under a gorgeous tree riverside. The lovely fall day ending with some cake, some laughs and lots of dancing (Steve wasn't too shy about retrieving that garter either!). I had a blast. Congratulations Wendy & Steve.
I have to give kudos to my mom, who was my assistant and second shooter for the day. She did an awesome job and two of my favorite shots of the day were hers posted below. Thanks for your help, I couldn't have done it without you!
